Arrival and overhead join at an uncontrolled aerodrome: Stouffville (CBB2, ATF)
Practises the self-announced calls for arriving at an uncontrolled aerodrome on the aerodrome traffic frequency and joining the circuit from overhead: an inbound call, an overhead joining call, downwind, final and clear of the runway (NAV CANADA VFR Phraseology guide, Aerodrome Traffic Frequency pp. 56-57 and MF Arrival/Circuits p. 53).
The situation
You are the pilot of C-GABC, a Cessna 172, ten miles east of Stouffville (CBB2) at 2,500 ft, inbound for a full-stop landing. Stouffville is uncontrolled: no tower, no FSS and no UNICOM. You broadcast your own position and intentions to Stouffville traffic, and nobody answers. The circuit is on the north side of the runway, so you will cross over the field and join mid downwind. Some aircraft here may have no radio at all: listen, and build the picture from what you hear.
