For flight instructors: assign radio practice between lessons

radio.training lets a student practise Canadian VFR radio calls out loud with an AI controller, at real aerodromes, and get graded on each call against the NAV CANADA VFR Phraseology guide. There are also drills with nothing to say out loud: copying a clearance and the ATIS by ear, readbacks, numbers and callsigns, light signals, radio failure and the diversion. It is free and needs no account.

What it is, and what it is not

• It is practice for the words: the frame of a call, readbacks, numbers, standard phraseology, and reacting to what ATC actually says.
• Every scenario lists the sections of the guide, the TC AIM and the Canada Flight Supplement it is built on.
• It is not a substitute for your briefing or your judgement, and it is not for real-world operations.

How to assign it

Copy the link for a scenario or drill and send it to your student. It opens the app straight on that item. The flight test coverage page shows which items practise which Ex. 30 and Ex. 23 criteria.
